    Kickstart Kit: Build a List

    About

     

    This Kickstart Kit introduces you to the power of ONTRAPORT as a lead capturing platform. After quick customization of the components within, you'll be collecting leads and nurturing new contacts instantly, fortifying your list. Here's what you get:

     

    1. A 'Contact Us' or 'Ask Us' Smart Form for your website

    2. Automatic 'thank you' emails for contacts who fill out the Smart Form.

    3. A task to notify you of any contact questions and follow-up tracking.

    4. A lead generation Smart Form for your website

    5. Automatic follow-up emails for contacts who fill out the lead generation Smart Form.

    6. An opt-in Smart Form for a newsletter subscription

    7. Automated follow-up notifications and newsletter delivery to those who fill out the newsletter subscription opt-in Smart Form.

     

    Take a moment to think about what kinds of emails you want to use to communicate with these contacts both in the immediate short term (e.g., lead generation), and the long term (e.g., newsletter recipients). This will help you determine which settings make the most sense to achieve your business goals.

     

    How to Install this Package

    Follow these steps to install this package:

     

    1. Click the arrow in the upper right corner of your account next to your email address and click Account

      main menu

    2. Click on the Add A Package link in the Content Packages section.

    3. In the pop-up box, add the package code PNvYcekFR9aU6zn and click Confirm

    4. All of the tools have now been added to your account. Proceed to the section How to Configure This Package

     

    How to Configure this Package

    Configure and Publish the Smart Forms

    1. In the Contacts collection click Smart Forms.

    2. Click on the form Build a List: Contact Us.

    3. The form is built for you, but you may want to change the page contacts see after filling out the form (the "Thank You" page). You can also set up an instant email notification to alert you when a contact fills out the form.

        1. Click the Settings tab.

        2. Set the Thank You page in the top section.

        3. If you would like a notification every time someone fills out the form, put your email address in the Notification and Routing section of the form.

    4. Make any other desired changes to the form and click Save in the upper right corner.

    5. Publish the Build a List: Contact Us form. There are several ways to publish the form:

      1. If you have an integrated WordPress site the form can be inserted using the WordPress page or post editor. Click the Add ONTRAPORT Media icon and select the form to insert it.

      2. If you are using an ONTRAPORT Legacy Pages Landing Page add a Form Layer and select the form from the drop down box.

      3. To insert the form code into any website, click the Publish button and select either the Javascript or HTML Version of the form code to copy and paste into the site (you can also send the form code to your developer by clicking the Send to my webmaster link).

    6. Repeat these steps to configure and publish the Build a List: Lead Generation and Build a List: Newsletter Sign-Up forms.

    Editing the Content

    • In the Contacts collection click Sequences.

    • Click on the Sequence Build a List: Contact Us Follow-Up to edit it.

    • Click on the first Email step to see the content of the message. Click the Edit Email button to open the message in the email editor. After making your changes in the editor, click the Save button in the top right to return to the Sequence

    • Edit each step in the sequence in the same way.

    • When completed editing the sequence click the Save button at the top right. Repeat these steps to edit the content in the Build a List: Lead Generation, Build a List: Newsletter and Build a List: Newsletter Thank You sequences.

     

    How it Works

     

    Contact Us System

    When a contact fills out the Build a List: Contact Us form an email is sent to the contact from the sequence Sequence: Build a List: Contact Us Follow-Up. The question or comment the contact has appears in the field Question. A Task is sent to you (or the Contact Owner) instructing you to answer the client’s question. To manage your tasks click Tasks in the navigation menu. To close the task after completing it click the green check mark next to it.

     

    Lead Generation System

    When a contact fills out the Build a List: Lead Generation form an email is sent to the contact from the sequence Sequence: Build a List: Lead Generation. Three days later, that contact will receive the second email from the sequence Sequence: Build a List: Lead Generation.

     

    Newsletter System

    When a contact fills out the Build a List: Newsletter Sign-Up form the contact will be added to the sequence Build a List: Newsletter Thank You and receive the acknowledgement email in that sequence. In addition, the contact will be added to the newsletter distribution sequence Build a List: Newsletter. You will edit this sequence to add your newsletter content.
