Does Ontraport Meet the Canadian CRTC Standards Act?

Frank Hagan

According to our legal team, our understanding is that Canadian anti-spam laws bind the sender and not the platform you use to send email. It's your responsibility as the list-owner to comply with these laws which apply to Canadian citizens and those who email them.

We can't give you legal advice, but a quick Google search will reveal that in order to comply, you'll need 'express consent' from every Canadian recipient on your list. There's a little list of things you have to provide people on your signup pages to qualify an opt-in as one that has 'expressly consented'. Whether you do that is up to you. You can refer to the CRTC site for details.
