Customers interacting with Checkboxes

I'd like to request a feature where a Contact can both 'view' checkboxes in their account (which we use for their preferences), and also 'check' more boxes and 'un-check' any boxes all at once.

I can create a block showing their checkboxes, and I can create a block below where they can update their preferences, but it can't be done all in the same block, which is making the process a little clumbersome for our users.
