Changing prices on subscriptions

Steve Loates

We are very new to Ontraport and have a subscription based monthly membership.

We were in the process of adjusting our prices when someone signed up and paid the wrong price which is higher.

So we now have to refund them the difference for this month but how do we make sure going forward they are billed the correct amount each month?

I have adjusted the amount of the open order for next month, but the amount in purchase details still shows the higher incorrect amount.

I am concerned that there next billing in February will be OK because I changed the open order but that the March billing will revert back to the wrong higher price.

Any suggestions please?

You can manually change the amount of the open order and all future charges will be at the new amount. Here is how to do it.

1, Open the Contact Record and then navigate to the Purchases tab.

2. Scroll down to the Subscriptions and Payment Plans section and click on the plan you want to change. Click Edit in the small Actions menu that appears.

3. On the Edit Open Order (status: current) pop up, edit the price you are charging this Contact. Then, click the Submit button:

This edit will affect this Contact's subscription only, and will not affect any other subscription.

Today we added the ability to have a Subscription or Payment Plan send an invoice with each recurring payment.

For existing contacts you can enable recurring invoices to be sent by editing the Subscription or Payment Plan on the Purchases tab of the Contact Record.

Order Forms now contain a checkbox to automatically generate the recurring invoices for all future orders. You can edit your existing Order Forms in ONTRAPORT and the change will propagate wherever the form is published (so you don't have to re-embed the form code).
