Facebook Pixel use with OP Plugin/Landing Pages on my WP site?

Chris Lakey

I have a Wordpress site that has no native pages; only pages I'm hosting via the OntraPort Plugin.

I want to make sure I set up my Facebook Pixel correctly.

Do I need to install the FB Pixel on the WP Site directly, or only add the Pixel Code through OntraPort Landing Pages Settings.

I assume there's no reason to install the Pixel directly through Wordpress, since there are no native pages being called; only OP Landing Pages.

Does that make sense? Thanks for the help...

Put the pixel in the ONTRApages Settings >> Custom Header Code. You won't need it on the WordPress site itself.

You can use a browser plugin like this one for Chrome to verify that it is working: Facebook Pixel Helper

Our Certified Consultant Diana Koshedzhiyska has recommended using Google Tag Manager to add all of your tracking scripts to ONTRApages. The steps are:

  1. Create a Tag Manager account
  2. Add tags you want
  3. Publish tag manager
  4. Paste the code to all your OP pages.

For the Facebook Pixel Code you would paste it into a "custom HTML tag" in Google Tag Manager. The advantage of this approach is if you want to later add another tracking script like Wicked Reports you can simply add it to the Google Tag Manager. It will then automatically propagate to all your published pages without editing each one individually.
