Decimal Fields

For Client: I need to insert a price field as a merge field in an email WITHOUT including the dollar sign on the front of it. I could take the amount in the price field and put it into a numeric field and then use that numeric field in the email, however, the numeric field is only integer/whole-numbers. I need a decimal field type besides the price field. Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful day :)

Currently, you can only have whole numbers.  Please include decimal functionality so this field can hold exact numbers and be used accurately in mathematical equations. 

A significant limitation of having a custom Numeric Field is the inability to choose how it displays/merges.

It would be great to have the number field display with commas and decimals a la 1,000,000.00 rather than always as 1000000. Currently you can do this with either Price fields or Text fields however these fields do not work with equations, and defeat the point of a number field.

Another consideration is the option to change the type of a field, IE convert a numeric field to text etc.

This is a request to have an enable/disable feature for decimals on a product in the order summary. For example, in the order summary, the price has .00 at the end - the client is concerned that this makes the product appear more expensive than it is.
