We didn't move it! You did, by enabling one of the apps or custom objects.
It does make perfect sense, and in fact it's the only possible way to handle a platform that has multiple objects. The reason is that EACH OBJECT (companies, deals, blogs, whatever else) has its OWN automations, messages, etc. That's just the way data works, and there's no way around it. Therefore, it only makes sense to have the automations and messages for contacts under the contacts tab, and the automations and messages for companies (or whatever) under that tab.
Before you enabled a custom object or app, there was only one automation collection, so it was possible to put it in the top bar.
