Drop down limit - provide limit and number count

Hello!

I may be missing it,  but it would be helpful if the drop down menu in the Field Editor 1-indicated the 100 selections limit;  and 2-provided an indication that the limit was being approached;  and 3-actually saved all the selections up to 100 even when the limit was exceeded.  I just lost all my work.
