Payoneer Integration as Payment Gateway

Mahindra Raj

I live in Malaysia. I signed up with Ontraport all excited about how this is radically going to work for me. And then, disappointment came when pretty much all the payment gateways won't allow me to open an account because I'm not in one of their limited countries they allow.

The only option I have is "Paypal Standard" which has a lot of limitations like "can't setup installment payments", "can't apply rules to the order form because of IPN issues etc."

And biggest of all Paypal standard doesn't allow me to accept MYR currency if I integrate Ontraport with Paypal Standard - it has to be in US dollars.

I have found a payment service that allows pretty much any non-US country to use their service called "Payoneer".

This would be a solution for me to continue using Ontraport. Otherwise, if I can't accept payments using Ontraport then what's the point.

If someone could look into Payoneer and reply to me (or this) about whether an integration can be done, that would be great! I'd hate to cancel my Ontraport account just because of this, and I'm sure there are many more people who don't live in US, Australia or Europe that could really benefit from Ontraport if there was an ability to easily accept payments for countries like Malaysia.

thank you.

We added the Malaysian Ringgits to ONTRAPORT to allow your order forms to show it instead of the dollar symbol ($).

At the current time, the only gateway we support that also will support Malaysian companies and bill in Malaysian Ringgits is eWAY at https://eway.io/my

You can use eWay and then navigate to your profile icon (upper right corner)  > Administration > Data > Localization. Select Malaysian Ringgits as the currency under Select your preferred currency.

Hi Mahindra,

I am moving this gateway feature request to our gateway request forum. I did some digging myself and see that 2Checkout is a viable option for your usecase as well.

While you can't use our supported gateways at this time have you thought about leveraging our Payments API to send us payment outcomes so you can still automate? We have more information about our Payments API here: https://ontraport.zendesk.com/entries/26298784-Payments-API

Hi Sean, thanks for the quick reply.

2Checkout charges 2% higher comm rate but I'm willing to look at that.

I would have gone with Worldpay but they don't seem to be replying to the 3 emails I sent them already.

And basically these are the two criteria that I'd need met to keep using Ontraport for my needs:

1) Allows Malaysians to use their service i.e. open an account, preferably a merchant gateway.

2) Allows accepting payments in MYR currency also.

3) Allows me to accept subscription payments, recurring billing, installment payments and the likes of that.

Any recommendations you have that meet that criteria would help and then obviously integrating them into Ontraport :-)

And meanwhile, if you have any ideas on how I can get through to Worldpay besides using their website form (through which I've tried to get a response 3 times now and failed), that would be great too!

Thanks again.

Hi. Has there been any resolution to this since Mahindra wrote about this three years ago? I am from Malaysia and would really like to use the most important function of Ontraport which is Sales.

At the current time, we don't have any gateways that support MYR currency.

We will be adding PayPal standard billing in Ringgits soon. You will be able to use your Malaysian PayPal account to accept payments.
