Running a Rule Retroactively

Debra Gould

SInce it's not possible for a global rule to apply retroactively, would be really great if we could select contacts and then under actions have "run rule" as an option rather than having to put them into a sequence to apply a tag or whatever else is set in the rule.

Hi Debra!  You can apply Tags/Sequences via group action!  You can also mimic a "retroactive" Global Rule by creating a Step Sequence with a Rule Step that has the desired Rule Outcome/Action.  Subscribe Contacts to the Sequence and the Rule will fire.  If needed, you can add a condition to the Rule step to make sure that the Contacts meet the qualifications of who the Rule needs to fire for (for example, "Has clicked email link").
