How do I change the Bulk Email Status to Opt-In?

How do I change the Bulk Email Status of one of my contacts from Transactional Only (opt-out) to Single Opt-In?

You are not able to. On an occasional, one-off basis, ONTRAPORT's Email Delivery team can change contacts back to BES Single Opt-In so long as you can provide proof that the contact still wants to hear from you.

I just tested this with a test email that I use to test Ontraport, and this did not work. What I did

1. opted-in via online form

2. received opt-in email in test email

3. managed subscription to "opt-out from all future emails"

4. checked the Bulk Email Status = Opt-out (as expected, but then...)

5. with same email I filled in an Ontraport form hoping the test email would be opted back in

--> test email is still in Bulk Email Status = Opt-out. 

--> also: going to the "manage my subscriptions" with the test email (from email in step 2.) does not help as Ontraport shows the test email has not opted out. 

 

Is this a bug?

Vasco - please contact Support on that one, because using the opt-in form with the same email address entered should opt them back in. Support will want to take a look at the specific Contact Record to see why it did not change the status back to Opt In. 

You can chat support from within your account by clicking the question mark "help" icon in the lower right, and then clicking on Chat Support.
