Paypal - "Update your integration before 1/18/2017"

Asperger Experts

Anyone else get contacted by Paypal? There's nothing I could find in the forums or the KB about newer API/integration stuff.

"We’ve identified your integration as passing either invalid or incorrect data to PayPal in one or more of your payment buttons. To ensure your payments continue to process, you’ll need to update your integration as soon as possible."

All their FAQs/docs were developer oriented, I told them "We're just using Ontraport", and they confirmed that it's up to OP then. Any news/status that I missed?

We have assurances from PayPal that our PayPal integration is fine, and does not need updating. We clarified that our payment requests to them are fully compatible with their system and there are no issues with it.

In their response, they recommended you reach out to PayPal as to why you are getting the notice:

"Ontraport is not on our list of partners to reach out to regarding this request. This likely did come from one of your merchants as part of the Merchant Org outreach. We suggest the merchant follow the directions provided and open an MTS ticket directly with our technical team.

The link for MTS is below:

https://www.paypal-techsupport.com/

Once on the page at the bottom they can click Contact Support. Here is where they will complete their ticket. It is then assigned to a technical rep on our side who will work with the merchant directly."

I'm personally not aware of a change in the PayPal API that would make our integration invalid, but we will definitely check up on this!

We're still trying to figure out why they are warning us about our integration. It does not violate any of their rules, or fit any of the descriptions the provide on that page. No one we have contacted there - when we can actually get someone to respond to us - can tell us how our integration violates their standards. We think the message is in error, but we are waiting to hear back from them to verify it.
