SMS Inbox Filtered By Last SMS Phone Number From OP

Jeremy Krulikowski

We have automated texts from Operations and Sales going out from separate Ontraport phone numbers. It's very challenging for our team to decipher which messages in the inbox belong to them vs someone from the opposing team.

We're looking for a feature where if the last outbound text was from our Sales number, replies would go to the Sales inbox and if the last outbound text was from our Operations number, replies would go to our Operations inbox.

Not sure what to say, but just tested in your account and works as expected.

This already exists! Just set the default routing to your inbox for each channel in the channel editor.. easy!

I literally just chatted with OP support and they said there was no way to do this, haha. I think I actually already set this up the way you showed and when I tested it, it still did not work.

Will have support re-open your ticket and reach out to resolve this for you. For sure, is both possible and easy.

Yes, that's what I already have set up. I just tested it again with a new text from our sales number.

The reply still went to the primary inbox. I can see my contact's convo history in the sales inbox, but it doesn't show my reply. When I got to the primary inbox, my reply is showing as unread and visible there.

Our sales number has sent out 787 texts now and I set up that channel routing WHEN I added the number. We still only have one contact's convo in the sales team inbox and it's because I manually added my contact there. But it's still not pulling in the new texts.

Will bet you $100 that your outbound texts are being sent from your primary channel and not your sales number...

This is how the sales team's outbound texts are setup. Did I do something wrong there? I can get back on with Support if that's better. They just told me I couldn't do what I wanted to do, so we ended the chat. I'd love to know what's keeping my test from showing up in the right place. Could it be that I originally had a text from the Operations number on my contact and THEN I got the text from the Sales number later? Will it stay in the inbox it starts in?

Something odd going on. Best to continue the convo in support. They'll reach out!
