Be able to delete a value in fields and leave it blank

When a user enters values into fields and saves them, those values are correctly saved and displayed on their contact pages.

However, if the user later returns, clears those fields, and saves again, the original values still persist on the contact pages instead of being removed.

I’d like the fields to update to blank when a user deletes the contents and saves — this should apply to all field types, including text, checkbox, image, rich text, etc.
