Next Charge Date Available in Triggers and Conditions

Ryan Chapman

Please make subscription "next charge date" available as a selection field in Triggers and conditions and as a merge field.

This is important for informing customers of their next charge date in automated emails, allowing customers to continue to have access to content until their paid time is over (when they cancel in the middle of a paid interval), and more.

The current workaround is not precise and does not allow us to merge field dates into customer emails or end access on a specific date relative to the contact's actual paid membership dates.

Please to leave a comment.

I realize some may have more than one open order.  I'm assuming this could be done by product....you would pick something like "next charge date", then you'd have to pick the product it's related to.  I suppose it is possible that there could be multiple open orders for the same product but I doubt many people have their accounts set up this way.

For clarification for our team, the "Next Charge Date" is found in the "Subscriptions and Payment Plans" section on the Purchases tab in the Contact Record:

This request is to expose that "Next Charge Date" as a merge field and selection Triggers, Goals, Rules and Conditions. Here's an example of how a Goal might handle the "Next Charge Date" with offset timing for the date:

Merge fields could use a drill down option to expose "Next Charge Date"; the first level would list all products in the account, then under each product the "Next Charge Date":

It would also be useful to have other product info available such as Product->Name and Product->Amount as merge fields. This would greatly simplify creating payment declined emails as one email could be used for all products.

Right now we have to create one email per product so that the customer can see which subscription/payment plan the email is referring to.

Yes, this is a necessary function for allowing customers access to their membership for the full amount they paid for! Right now, if they cancel in the middle of their subscription period, the only option is to revoke access right away, leading to customer complaints and more manual for the team to take care of them and give them access until their subscription period is actually over.
