Trigger by Relative Date

Hi,

 

A type of trigger is missing in my opinion.

A trigger with relative date (not in relation with the contact...)

Exemple of trigger :

The monday of week 34.
-> each year the monday of week 34, trigger is launched...

Other examples :
- The first day of February
- The first Thuesday of Year
- The Last Sunday of March

...

It's very complex to do that at this time in ONTRAPORT...
(you have to use relative date by contact and make some math or integrate with zapier...)

I'm not sure how we could accomplish this without an overwhelming number of choices in the drop downs, or multiple dialog boxes for what should be a simple function. For those type of scenarios you can probably just pick the date for the Trigger from the calendar easier than trying to figure out how to fill in the dialog boxes.

You can stack Wait elements for days of the week; in this example I'm using a Trigger for the 1st of April, and then a "Wait until Tuesday" (first Tuesday of the month). Wait a day, and then another "Wait until Tuesday" element is inserted for the second Tuesday of the month.

Today, ONTRAPORT added several future dates to the condition drop down so you can test against a date field for "today", "yesterday", "7 days from now", "30 days from now", etc.

Hello,

Thank you for the update. 
Unfortunatly that not what I need.

The need :

1. add option to the existing trigger/goal "Today is specific date"
-> Ignore year

2. Create a new trigger/goal "Today is relative date"
-> Not the same as "Today is relative to contact's date field"

Here the mockup of the best solution in my opinion (it will cover all the possibilities in an intuitive interface) :

Examples :

2nd day of week 3
-> the trigger is activated the second day of week 3, each year

3rd Monday of Month 4
-> the trigger is activated the 3rd monday of April, each year

33th Tuesday of Year 2020
-> the trigger is activated the 33th tuesday of year 2020

95th day of week 99
-> the trigger is activated the last day of the last week of each year.

---

These 2 things are really useful for building an evergreen system.
