Encrypted/ obfuscated custom fields

It would be really cool if we could create custom fields that we knew would be encrypted in your DB, or set custom fields to obfuscate the first X characters of a field's value.

This would be great for storing sensitive data like SSN, a pin, 3rd party passwords, or data that we don't want all users to see.
