Adding YYYY/MM/DD date format to Email Merge Fields

Currently available date formats in Merge Fields are not suitable for some countries, for example, for Japan, where the date format is YYYY/MM/DD.

Would be great if there could be more date formats added to the date Merge Fields, specifically the YYYY/MM/DD format.

Currently when we need to insert a date into a Japanese language email, our work flow is to assign a task when the date field is updated and to add a text version of the date in Japanese format into a text field, which is then used instead of the date field.
