Prevent pages being deleted by mistake

I just lost my entire completed landing page in an instant. This is how it happened.

1. I wanted to test something so I made a copy of the landing page.
2. Once I'd finished the test I deleted the page.
3. I didn't realise that the original page was still checked.
4. This means I deleted the original page and the copy at the same time.
5. Days of work gone instantaneously.

I suggest one of two options:

1. When I check a page to copy it, the page stays selected as it opens automatically. It would be better if it would automatically deselect as the page opens. Then I wouldn't run the risk of accidentally deleting it when I think I'm deleting another page.
2. You could have a warning whenever more than one page is selected for deletion and ask if we really want to delete more than one page. 

The first proposal seems much better to me.

And this is not the first time I've noticed this issue. it's just the first time I've lost something significant. 

Luckily I had another copy for some reason, so it wasn't critical, but it could have been.
