FollowCampaign Builder Dynamic Variables
Here's my situation and use case, although I can think of many others.
We're sending a daily email newsletter to our list. So we made a little flow based on the 'Newsletter' template in ontraport. It starts with the "Today is a specific date" trigger, then we set the time, send the email, and use goals to track opens and clicks.
So I need to duplicate* this "Daily Flow" for each day then, and for each day I have to change the date, maybe the time, the email, and then the email field for two goals.
It's very tedious.
And it could easily be a lot worse if I had more goals or a more complicated flow.
I would love a way to change the email that's being sent and the emails the goals are looking at simultaneously. That way instead of 3 actions and I think 12 clicks it would be 1 action and 4 clicks. The goals would be "smart goals" that know the email they're checking is the one earlier in the flow.
Basically I want to have the email being sent and the email the goals are looking at be a dynamic variable.
Not only would this save lots of tedium, having variables like this could open up a lot of cool new possibilities.
* - I just want to add that duplicating elements in the campaign editor is NOT intuitive at all and I had to go into the live chat to figure it out. My service rep was very helpful thankfully but I think this could be made more obvious. For those who don't know, if you drag that over to the + sign on the far right where you can go to add a new trigger, it should ask if you want to copy or move the items. I mean that whole action is not something I would ever think of trying and I've been using various software my whole life. A simple button with a dropdown menu might work.
These are minor grievances but I think the dynamic variable is a cool idea that should be considered, it would save a lot of time and add more potential to the campaigns.
cheers
