Sales Reports - Forecasting using Cumulative Open Orders

Lucas Gianello

We have a business where we sell annual and monthly subscription products (open orders in OP).

I cannot do any sort of forecasting on these orders because the only field I have that I can use to make Groups in Reports > Open Orders is "Next Payment Date".

That limits each open order to being classified once (either next month or next year only) in the reports.

What I want to know is cumulative future transactions, so I can calculate roughly what my income will be further than one month out.

i.e. Customer signs up to our monthly product. In addition to their next transaction date, I want to be able to see the month after, and all future transaction dates, so we can do basic business planning.

Take a look at the Trends charts in the Dashboard. They should give you more visibility of sales of subscription and payment plan products.

It would be nice to have a date range you could see, such as "All open orders for the next 12 months."

Open ended  reports "for all time" won't work because Ontraport assumes all subscriptions are evergreen subscriptions and continue indefinitely.

Thanks Frank, I don't want to see reports "for all time", I want to see what our revenue will look like in March 2021, for example. Or Q4 this year even. At the moment I cannot do that because Ontraport only gives me "Next Payment Date" to work with, meaning I can only see one month ahead. If you know of a workaround other than exporting sales and then rebuilding everything in a spreadsheet, I'm all ears.
