Agreed. Or even better, just make the log-in fields page elements that can be dropped onto blocks, and submitted just like any other form. It would simply have an email/password field.

Ability to edit Membership Login Page
We want to be able to add a background image and favicon to the Membership Login Page, make it more customized.
