Apply Coupon Codes with URL parameters

I would seriously appreciate the ability to auto-apply a coupon-code to an ontraport checkout page with a URL parameter. e.g.
mysite.com/checkout?COUPONCODE
 
These are examples of 3rd party solutions adding custom code - but I honestly am super disappointed this is not a built in option:
