Need to edit and send message from mobile

Annie Finch

Hello, I wanted to send a message from my iphone. On the app, I don't see a way to do this. So I logged into the website from my phone. I was able to find my message and to edit the "send from" and "reply to" fields--but there was no SAVE button!  The menu only shows Edit Message, Stats, and Cancel. Very frustrating. Can we have full capability to send a message from mobile?

Hi Annie,

We have some great news to share regarding your request.

We released Inbox Mobile today, which allows you to send and manage messages directly from the Ontraport app. This new feature provides the mobile capability you're looking for.

You can learn more about how to use it here.

YES!!!  Why isn't the functionality the same on mobile as in the web app?  I tried sending an SMS via mobile to contacts and is uses my PERSONAL number,  WTF????  This is a CRM and I have purchased SMS numbers - these need to be used in OP mobile app too,

Currently, you can only send existing messages from the app. We recommend you use an pre-configured Automation to send the email, and subscribe your contact to that Automation.

We are looking at making at least the SimpleMail editor available for use with the mobile app, but it's not a trivial project. We're leaving this request open for more votes and comments!

Yes, SMS currently defaults to the device's SMS sending rather than using one of the Ontraport SMS numbers. This was requested by people who want to pick up on a customer service request via SMS and have it available on their phone. We are looking at enabling sending SMS directly from the phone to Ontraport, and then from Ontraport to the recipient.

You can set up SMS messages in an Automation and send them that way,. Subscribe the contact to the Automation with the SMS message. This would work for those canned responses you want to send.

But we are listening and are still considering the "bridge mode" of creating and sending SMS from the mobile app through Ontraport's SMS system.
