FollowWarn/block user from navigating to next page of contacts when some are selected
It is currently not possible to manually select/deselect users across multiple pages of contacts in Contacts view. Attempting to do so clears the selection except for the contacts on the current page.
Current behavior: In Contacts view:
- Go to Contacts view (any view with more than 50 contacts)
- Select all (e.g. all 800 in a group of 800)
- Deselect one or more
- Change to another page (e.g. p. 2 of contacts)
Result: all contacts on other pages are deselected when ONE contact on current page is deselected (i.e. only the other 49 on current page remain selected, and none on other pages).
This behavior is intentional, but often not what users expect:
Suggested behavior: UI should warn or block user from navigating to another page when one or more contacts is selected or deselected.
In other words, navigating between pages of contacts should be enabled only when all or none are selected. Otherwise, the user will lose their manual selection, which is almost never what the user intends.
Another common side-effect of the current design is that if the user intends to send to 799 of a group of 800 by deselecting just one (e.g. the most recently added contact), only the remaining contacts on the first page will be included. This results in not only having to resend the message to the other 750, but since the 49 who DID get the message can't be deselected for the 2nd try, the original 49 will either get it a 2nd time, or the user has to do something with one-off tags that involves many more steps.
